There is something so wonderful about the smell of lemon. It’s refreshing, invigorating, and just plain yummy.  Plus it’s another great oil in the Premium Starter Kit!  Lemon is great for all sorts of things my two favorites is cooking and lemon water. But there are even more things you can do with Lemon Essential Oil! Take a look at this list to name a few.

1. Clean Up Stick Messes – As a mother my life is full of sticky messes. Using 1-2 drops of lemon to remove reside from crayons, oil, grease, etc is like magic.

2. Natural Air Freshener – Seriously you guys, that smell is wonderful. I love to put some lemon and purification together in a spray bottle willed with water to use as an all natural air freshener.

3.  Varicose Veins – Rubbing several drops of lemon essential oil on varicose veins helps improve circulation and relieve pressure on the veins.

4.  Detox Lemon Water – Every morning I love to put 1-2 drops in a class of water. This helps detox the liver, balance pH levels, and helps with heartburn and constipation.

5. Skin Callouses – As a crossfitter this one is huge. Put one drop on any corn, callous, wart or bunion 3 times a day and what the magic happen.

6. Produce Wash – Does anyone else worry about what is on your produce?! Using lemon actually helps increase the shelf life of your fresh produce as well as clean it! 2-3 drops in some cool water and stir in your fruit or veggies.

7. Sterilize Counters – Rather then using toxic filled chemicals use 2-3 drops of lemon essential oil to water, shake and spray on the counter tops to help sterilize.

8.  Brain Power – Diffusing lemon or drinking it in water is known to help wake up neurons and increase brain function during studying and testing (or just on a regular day if you are like me and need the extra help).

9. Hand Sanitizer – Rub a drop of lemon on your hands after using a public restroom or after a trip to the box to disinfect and kill germs

Paleo Homemade Lemonade

10 Uses for Lemon Essential Oil plus Homemade Paleo Lemonade!

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Pour two cups of water into a pan, combine honey and bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from the heat and add in your lemon juice.
  3. Pour into a pitcher (better for it to be glass or metal as Lemon Essential Oil can be very abrasive to plastics).
  4. Add in the rest of your cold water to taste (again depending on how strong you like your lemonade you may want to add a bit more or less water)
  5. Stir in the drops of lemon essential oil.
  6. Add ice and let chill!
  7. Enjoy! Yum!

Peppermint Essential Oil – With Chocolate Peppermint Brownie Recipe!

One of my favorite oils in the Premium Starter Kit is Peppermint. There are quite a few uses for peppermint – in fact while the husband and I were driving along the Oregon coast for our family vacation I made sure to bring some along with me. I have a tendency to get really car sick and was worried about driving so much on our trip.  I mixed up some peppermint with some coconut oil and kept it close at hand.  One day we were on a particularly curvey road and I was getting pretty sick. I rubbed my concoction on my belly and with in minutes my nauseous went away. For the win.

A Few More Uses for Peppermint Essential Oil

1. Indigestion/Gas/Diarrhea

2. Heartburn

3. Inflammation

4. Fever

5. Itching

6. Poison Ivy/Oak

7. Nausea or Morning Sickness

8. Headaches

9. Congestion

10. Ticks

And then one of my favorite uses:

11. Paleo Chocolate Peppermint Brownies


 

Paleo Chocolate Peppermint Brownies

(Adapted from this recipe)

Paleo Chocolate Peppermint Browns with Young Living Peppermint Essential Oils

Ingredients:

  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 1 Cup Unsweetened Cacao Powder
  • 3/4 Cup Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 3 tsp Vanilla Extra
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2-3 drops Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil (get yours here!)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees.
  2. In a large bowl mix all ingredients together until smooth.
  3. Pour into an 8×8 cake pan that is lined with parchment paper.
  4. Cook for 30 minutes.
  5. Let set in the pan for 2-3 hours (or in the fridge) or eat them gooey straight from the pan!

 

If you are Paleo eaters like my family  then you will love these.  If you are not paleo eaters then I’m sure you could just add 2-3 drops of young living peppermint essential oil to your favorite brownie recipe and it would turn out great!

Getting Started!

Hello!

While I may be newer to the Essential Oil world I am enthusiastic! I use these oils for anything I can come up with.  To sore muscles, to diffuse fatigue away, and to help build natural health. I love that they are all natural and safe even for children to use!  I’m hoping to get those around me just as excited about these oils as I am!
